The Heritage Lottery Came to Say Hello

La Bonches and Hazel from DiscoveryIn August the HLF sent a film crew – you can read all about the visit here. It was great to share with them the fun of the circus. We have promised not to publish the photos of them wearing tutus which PP got them to wear! It was all happening on the day. Not only were they filming us, but Lost in Translation Circus were in the Circus Central car park packing up to go to Great Yarmouth having been performing at the Streets Of Festival in Durham with Lets Circus, but also at the very same time the whole “Company Man” crew from Japan arrived, after all their shows in Edinburgh. We didn’t know who to hug first, before dashing off again to film on the Town Moor. The Town Moor really is the heart of our circus heritage in the North East. The latest circus which visited was Moscow State Circus, we watched their show and then some of us saw them pull down the big top, in under 3 hours. Kernel had an juggling lesson with one of the performers.

Just a thought – were circuses one of the first creators of crop circles?
