Frank Wilson & Event International

1990s – date

Flying Dragon Circus, Theatre Royal 2008, Directed by Pierrot Bidon, produced by Frank Wilson - a UK/Chinese venture.Frank Wilson, and his company Event International, is an important figure in the International Street Arts industry, based in the North East. He is known Internationally as a Promoter and Producer. He was involved at the beginning of Stockton’s International Riverside Festival, and still programmes this, now in partnership with the Council. He was also involved at the start of North and South Tyneside Councils’ Mouth of the Tyne Festival. In 2013 there was no Street Art or Circus at the event. In 2007 he developed a theatre based circus called Flying Dragon Circus. “There’s lots of humour in this show, which is pure spectacle, and of course, it’s non-stop action. With everything from acrobatics, aerial antics featuring British artists with cloud swing and flying trapeze, comedy, acts with silks draped from the ceiling, contortionists doing things with their bodies that really defy belief, and Kung Fu Shaolin warriors breaking bits of wood over various parts of their bodies. And not forgetting the smiley hula hoop girl, a gyrating mass of quivering hoops.”

He is a Trustee for the NECDT.
