Durham City Jugglers

1996 – date

Juggling Games - at Durham Juggling Convention 2011, this was the year of the Onesie!Durham City Jugglers, founded in 1996 when “Scott” posted a Who’s interested?” note at the Ugly Jugglers stall at the indoor Market in Durham. They still meet on a tuesday night at the Durham Community Association, North Road.

The club established the Durham Juggling Convention in 2000, in Wolsingham School. It is a place for all the jugglers and circus people to juggle, meet new people, see other peoples acts and shows, learn new skills from workshops and each other. DJC is the biggest North East Juggling event and in 2011when Five Ring Circus and JUST came to help, it became a weekend event of circus fun! It is becoming important now as a youth circus event! Professionals come to perform and there are workshops to learn new skills. In the evening there is a cabaret style show and everyone enjoys themselves.
