Allan Robinson

Allan Robinson as Clogs the Clown (l) with Koppo the Clown, 1992 photo Allan RobinsonAllan Robinson was born in Newcastle and lives in Heaton. Performing as ‘Clogs the Clown’“I am magic-al and have oil in my blood”. After a 30 year career as a haulier he became a professional entertainer and Clown. He joined the Circus because Koppo the Clown (who’s father was a tumbler in the music halls) got him to help at an event in Newburn. He along with other entertainers like Claude the Clown has repertoire of static shows and walkabout as well as teaching circus at community events. Clogs has a suitcase filed with circus & magic tricks which he has been developing since he was a boy. He can be found entertaining people of all ages from “2 – 102” including residents of a Byker care home who he helps remember things.

The highlight in his career is the opening of the Stadium of Light in Sunderland in 1997. He is a member of the Magic Circle. Allan also has a collection of Circus Posters from the last 10 to 15 years.
